Here’s the definition of a Growth Product Manager (GPM) provided by ProductPlan:
A growth product manager sometimes referred to as a “product growth manager,” focuses on improving a business metric or goal (e.g., acquisition, activation, retention, referral, or revenue) by removing barriers to value.
From this, you can picture the day of the GPM:
Assess the key metrics to be grown
Brainstorm hypotheses about why it’s gone down or how to sneak it up another percentage point.
Validate the hypothesis
Plan and implement the action
Repeat
The question is whether this is a different job; the job of a growth product manager; or is it just the job of a product manager?
