Picture the scene.

A product manager is sitting in a meeting room with five other people.

There is an ongoing discussion about the recent fall in sales conversion.

The sales director is animated about not hitting targets.

The customer success manager is sharing customer feedback she’s received.

The logistics manager is questioning future dispatch expectations.

The UX manager is sharing thoughts on the competitor’s latest update.

The product manager is silent.

Is the product manager doing their job?


There have been times in the past when I’ve been advised to “speak up more" or “be more assertive” but as a self-confessed introvert that’s not my style.

I won’t be the loudest voice in a room of many people and I won’t just make a decision.

Does that mean I’m not doing my job?

I think I am and I think introverts make great product managers and here’s why …
